Is that you, John Wayne? Is this me?
Astora's Straight Sword :D
Is that you, John Wayne? Is this me?
I'm voting yes because I've witnessed the way he behaves in chat and I agree that he's a helpful person to have around, and keeps a level head during issues with users.
git guder
git gud
This game is too easy ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
(Spoilers for Scholar of the First Sin, don't look below if you don't want things ruined for you)
Well, the 1.10 patch introduced an alternate choice for a "Dark Lord" ending, so...Some element of choice has come back.
I voted for Cosmic because, from what I've heard, the admins are generally pretty absent. Guys like Draven can run around poisoning the community, because there aren't admins around often enough to ban them. Cosmic, who is in the wiki just about every day (evidenced by his time in the chat) has my trust that he'd then be an active admin, too.
Good news, everyone. Mister Barri the dickhead (or should I say, Draven the bigot) has recently been banned for this kind of behaviour, so the collective maturity and rationale of the wiki has already been improved by thirty-three percent. Disregard his messages, and have a more pleasant day for it.
As it turns out, Hellkite Drake has found the child model of Shanalotte, so there really was a kid version of her :O For some reason, dialogue for her was recorded (hence the credited voice actress) but it doesn't seem like her voice files are anywhere to be found in the game. I let Wolf know about it, and he edited the article accordingly.
Like Crystal said, she might appear in the Ivory King DLC, but my money's on her never showing up at all, like kid Beatrice.
I am not a PvP person. I'm not even that huge on co-op, most of the time. This antisocial bastard, right here, likes his game experience solo. That said, here's my impressions of the PvP covenants.
Blade of the Dark Moon - I almost never get invaded by these guys, probably because I never rack up enough sin to warrant it. I don't invade people, and I don't get indicted. I really have no problems with these guys, they're like the player police, hunting down the pricks who waltz into people's games - without their consent, without warning, without a way out that doesn't involve dashboarding, for the sole purpose of murdering them and screwing up their game, usually in as rude and cheap a fashion as possible - to punish them. Sounds A-okay to me.
Forest Hunters - All I know about these guys is they invade me the second I step into Alvina's territory, prompting me to sprint to Artorias' grave, hide behind it, and wait for them to comb through all of Darkroot before they finally think to check the boss arena. Then I wave to them, and trigger the boss fight. Good times. Hey, I know these guys from reputation, they love ganging up on you more than anyone - if I hate the PvP experience, why would I like the gank experience?
Dragons - I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with these guys. They're like Darkwraiths, but without the asshole invasion aspect. They just put their signs down and patiently wait for someone to summon them, which I never do. Good on them for offering to duel, rather than forcing it on you like a virtual bully. I feel bad for them, though, because the potential for pricks to abuse their summon sign is sky-high.
Gravelords - I've only ever been gravelorded once, and someone else killed the guy before I could ever notice any change. These guys would be the most annoying PvPers in the game if more people did it and if the effect on your game lasted a certain length of time no matter what you did, but it doesn't. Instead, it comes across suicidal - you gravelord, ruin three peoples' worlds, and potentially get yourself ganked by all three, furious at you for messing with them. Have fun with that.
Darkwraiths - Finally, I get to the badass MLG pro gamer Giantdad legend never dies covenant. What can I even say about these guys, aside from they come across like the world's biggest pricks. From the bullshit builds they looked up online because they can't make an original build to save their life, to the angry messages like "2scared2die" when you "rob" them of their treasured PvP, to the videos on Youtube about "The Hunt for Hatemail, aka Yes ladies, I'm an asshole and I'm proud of it" these guys just come across as the biggest dickbags in the DS community. Granted, anyone in any covenant can act like that, but it seems like the majority of them flock to the Darkwraith covenant.
In other words, eff PvP to hell and back. Just my two cents.
I do play offline, and I'm not really raging. I simply have a strong opinion, something I clearly warn about at the beginning of my comment. Your response doesn't really come across as necessary, dude. OP asked for opinions, I gave mine. If you don't like it, ignore me. Hell, I'm ignoring opinions I don't like, in this thread. Follow my example.
Expect a negative post from me, because I wholeheartedly hate the PvP of Dark Souls. Expect cusses. I hate every aspect of it, from the way it functions to the behaviour of the people who do it. I'm sorry, but I just do. And, before anyone tries to say "You knew what you were getting into when you bought the game," well...No, actually, I didn't. I waltzed into an EB Games, spotted Dark Souls going for ten bucks, remembered the many times I had heard people whining about how difficult it was, and bought it. All I knew was, it was challenging. I didn't even know why it was difficult. I just wanted a game that would last me longer than twenty-four hours.
