The Agape Ring is a ring in Dark Souls II.
In-Game Description
- A ring affixed with an open vessel.
The vessel insatiably absorbs souls
in place of its wearer, who is left
unaware even of their collection.
- All things are rooted in souls,
but what drives our thirst for them?
Abstinence from this elixir may be
the truest homage to an enduring self.
Availability[]
Bought from Straid of Olaphis for 5,000 souls if the player is at a minimum of 30,000 Soul Memory.
Effect[]
When equipped, the Agape Ring will make the wearer unable to gain souls from any sources. It will also cause soul items, such as Soul of a Proud Knight or Soul of the Last Giant, to become unusable until the ring is unequipped.
Use[]
The primary purpose of this ring is to lock Soul Memory at a specific matchmaking bracket for the purposes of PvP. By preventing the increase of Soul Memory, players are able to continue matchmaking at specific locations where lower-level players are more commonplace. This can be particularly useful for members of the Brotherhood of Blood covenant, who can continue invading in specific areas of the game regardless of game progress, or for members of the Heirs of the Sun covenant, who can continue to be summoned for specific areas and bosses without being pushed out of range by soul bounties.
