Alluring Skulls are throwable items in Dark Souls III.

In-Game Description

A skull resplendent in the scent of souls.
Prepared by evangelists of the Cathedral of the Deep.
Throw to shatter, spreading souls which attract enemies. Not effective for all foes.

  • Alluring skulls can be found as loot in many areas of the game. All alluring skulls found in the Undead Settlement will have a couple or more Starved Hound's hovering over the item.
  • The Shrine Handmaid will sell up to 5 alluring skulls for 500 souls each.

Alluring skulls, when crashing upon impact after being thrown, will release an attracting soul-mist that draws the attention of most enemies toward its location. Most enemies will hover around or attack the mist for a short time giving the player time to flee or to attack a clumped group of enemies.

  • While the alluring skulls do not work on every enemy, to include most bosses, they are an effective tool to distract the Deacons of the Deep allowing the player to quickly attack the highlighted Deacon without much resistance.
  • One can be traded with Pickle Pee in exchange for the Hello Carving (only once per playthrough).
