Found in the High Wall of Lothric, on a path hidden behind some barrels after passing through the rooftop area, inside a chest after one drops down to the scaffolding below.
Although it has a minimum requirement in Faith in order to be used effectively, the Astora Straight Sword does not scale with faith (unless it is infused down the Blessed/Lightning path), nor is it innately-blessed (unlike Anri's Straight Sword).
While it does have higher base damage than the Long Sword, it should be noted that it scales worse in dexterity, and continues to scale unremarkably with both strength and dexterity, even at maximum reinforcement, and when it is made into a refined weapon.
- Similar to the Long Sword, the player transitions into a stance in which they grip the sword with both hands and hold it up at their shoulder level. Executing a light attack whilst in the stance will cause the player to perform a quick vertical slash that inflicts significant stamina damage, which may result in an opponent's guard being broken; the player may then riposte them with a critical attack if they so choose. Using the strong attack whilst in the stance will have the player perform a lunging thrust attack forward, inflicting significant poise damage.
Reinforced with Titanite.
