Undead Attack Dogs are hairless hounds with pointy ears, large noses, and sharp teeth. Their eyes are measly and their bodies slim, displaying a build made for speed.
Using a large weapon, or any weapon capable of over or underhand strikes is beneficial during an encounter with Attack Dogs; especially in the area of Undead Burg, where stairs and sloped ground make it hard to land a hit due to their height. It is also much more reliable to attack with a thrusting sword while holding a shield up.
Be Warned. Attack dogs have the ability to ignore all forms of incoming damage for a brief time before they attack, and after. This effect also applies before and during any of their dodges, though not after. These invincibility frames are nearly impossible to distinguish from the rest of the dogs actions, it makes it seem as if the dog simply stands still, ignoring attacks for a moment. Time your attacks well to ensure you strike them.
