Batwing Demons are enemies in Dark Souls.

Location

They are seen for the first time in Sen's Fortress but are encountered as enemies throughout Anor Londo.

Description

Batwing Demons are winged, imp-like creatures with tall hind legs and long arms. They wield the Demon's Spear, a Lightning based weapon, and have long tails that appear to have no use aside, possibly, that of balancing their body during the flight.

Notes

Batwing Demons are the means of transportation, similar to the Giant Crow, between the end of Sen's Fortress and the beginning of Anor Londo. From Sen's Fortress, interaction with the gold resonance ring, which appears after defeating the Iron Golem, will prompt several Demons to carry the player by the arms to the outer wall of Anor Londo. To return to Sen's Fortress from Anor Londo, one must "talk" to a lone Demon perched on a merlon.

Trivia

  • The Batwing Demon seen at the very beginning of Anor Londo can actually be attacked, but similarly to the giant crow in Firelink Shrine, it will flee once attacked and thus, can't be killed.
