The Black Knight Greatsword is an ultra greatsword in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- Ultra greatsword wielded by the Black Knights who wander the lands. Designed to face chaos demons.
- The Black Knights constantly faced foes larger than themselves, and this sword's unique attack greatly reduces enemy poise.
- Skill: Stomp
Use one's weight to lunge forward with a low stance and increased poise, and follow with a strong attack for a spinning slash.
Availability
Dropped by the Black Knights who wield it. One can be found in the Road of Sacrifices, another in the Smouldering Lake, and two more in the Untended Graves.
Characteristics
At maximum levels of both strength and dexterity, the Black Knight Greatsword has the second-highest physical attack rating of any weapon in the game, behind a buffed Ledo's Great Hammer. However, this is not viable in practice, as it will require players to allocate massive amounts of points for diminishing returns. It also consumes an excessive amount of stamina. While most heavy weapons can accommodate four attacks in succession, the Black Knight Greatsword can only manage three before depleting all stamina. At low levels of endurance, a single attack will likely consume half or more of available stamina.
However, the Black Knight Greatsword has a moveset with unique strong attacks, and has a modest weight of 16 units.
Cannot be buffed or infused.
