Sends a rippling black flame that weaves across the ground in an undulating pattern toward the opponent's direction.
This pyromancy will not follow an opponent, but instead will head forward in an inconsistent undulating pattern for a limited distance, leaving the opponent the least risky option of establishing distance from the caster.
Enemies that use shields, such as Cathedral Knights, have their blocks broken from this attack. This can be used to almost always preform critical attacks on them, if the shield is hit as they block, making it easier to combat defense based enemies.
Even if this Pyromancy seems not so useful in PvP, it could be used wisely: with enough casting speed, a true combo (which the enemy will not be able to escape from once they are caught in) is possible by transitioning from Black Serpent to either Chaos Bed Vestiges or Great Chaos Fire Orb. One can even combo from Great Chaos Fire Orb into Great Combustion or Black Flame, but only when the opponent is in front of the player and is hit by both fire ball and lava.
