- For the Dark Souls III variant, see Black Witch Set (Dark Souls III).
The Black Witch Set is a light armor set in Dark Souls II.
Availability[]
- Sold by Royal Sorcerer Navlaan for a total of 27,000 souls after either freeing him, or finishing his questline.
- (Scholar of the First Sin only): Lighting every brazier in The Gutter causes the invading red phantom Gutter Denizen to invade the player on the lower part inside the ladder pit underneath the Central Gutter bonfire (second bonfire of the area, on a wooden ledge), which drops the chest, hands and legs pieces set along with the veil head piece uppon defeat.
Characteristics[]
The Black Witch robe boasts some of the best elemental defenses in game, with its Magic, Lightning and Dark being the highest, and its Fire damage only falling short of the Hexer's Set and the Chaos Set by a mere 2 points. It also provides impressive physical defenses for it's weight.
The Black Witch Hat has exceptional magic defense, high elemental defense, decent status resistances, and average physical defenses for its weight and classification. However, its hat allows for an extra attunement slot.
The Black Witch Domino Mask has exceptional magic defense, high elemental defenses, decent status resistances, and average physical defenses for its weight and classification. It also boasts a minor damage bonus to magic (between 2.5-3%), but lowers maximum health by roughly 15%.
The Black Witch Veil has exceptional magic defense, high elemental defenses, decent status resistances, and average physical defenses for its weight and classification. However, its veil boasts a massive boost to curse resistance, effectively making the wearer immune to being cursed, although they can still become hollowed upon death. Only the blessed crowns from completing all three of the DLCs and acquiring the King's Crown can grant total curse and hollowing immunity.
Set pieces[]
- Black Witch Hat
- Black Witch Domino Mask
- Black Witch Veil
- Black Witch Robe
- Black Witch Gloves
- Black Witch Trousers
Notes[]
- The Black Witch Veil does not protect the wearer from taking damage from Nashandra's curse orbs.
- The Black Witch Domino Mask, in many cases, may not be worth the effort nor the health penalty as the increase in spell damage is too meager to justify the difficulty of obtaining and the penalty of using this item. However, the spell buff does stack with the Blue Dagger.
- The Black Witch Hat is the only headpiece in the game that grants an extra attunement slot.
