Bows are a type of weapons in Dark Souls III. Bows are a ranged weapon type that requires a modest investment in strength and a moderate investment in dexterity. Bows can be equipped in either the left or right hand weapon slots. Because the player is required to hold the bow with both hands to fire, the Strength requirement can be circumvented.
All bows have a "zoom" feature that allows the player to get a closer look at their aim point. It should be noted that different types of Arrows have different ranges that add to a specific Bow's range. This affects the accuracy of the projectile resulting in some shots seeming inaccurate (this does not affect locked-on shots). Range can also be increased by equipping the Hawk Ring.
