The Buckler is a small shield in Dark Souls III.

A very small round metal shield.
It features a large central protrusion designed for parrying attacks.
Skill: Parry
Repel an attack at the right time to follow up with a critical hit. Works while equipped in either hand.

AvailabilityEdit

CharacteristicsEdit

The lightest Small Shield available, the Buckler has a moderate Dexterity requirement that can make it unreliable to equip on Strength-focused builds. It also provides extremely poor protection against attacks when used to block, being able to withstand almost no elemental damage whatsoever.

However, it is not designed to block, but rather to parry, as it is one of three Parrying Shields in the game that has the least amount of startup frames prior to an active parry, allowing the wielder to parry incoming attacks on reaction. Due to its low weight, it performs ideally in this regard.
