Characteristics[]

The Canvas Talisman possesses an unstable Spell Buff curve, making it more effective at certain values of Faith than others.

Unlike most Faith catalysts, its Spell Buff immediately begins increasing upon meeting the talisman's wielding requirements, rather than only starting to improve past 18 Faith. While its growth is relatively slow at low values of Faith, the scaling increases dramatically once past 30 Faith, and only slows down again when 40 Faith is attained. This unusual growth curve means that the Canvas Talisman is the strongest talisman at 45 Faith and below, with the exception of a small duration at around 30 Faith.

The Priest's Chime shares this unusual scaling curve with the Canvas Talisman, and in fact possesses superior Spell Buff at virtually all levels of Faith. However, the Canvas Talisman possesses Unfaltering Prayer, which allows it to Poise cast in order to prevent spells from being interrupted.
