For carvings in Dark Souls, see Carvings.
For carvings in Dark Souls III, see Carvings (Dark Souls III).

Carvings are considered consumable items found in Dark Souls II, and are based on the identical items of the same name from Dark Souls.

OverviewEdit

Carvings are items usable by the player to communicate with other players. When used, one's character will toss it into the air; upon breaking, it will say its phrase respectively. The carvings are somehow infinite and can never be consumed or used up.

LoreEdit

While it is stated that the carvings were made by an unknown artist, in Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition it is certain that the carvings were crafted by one of Gwyn's four knights, Hawkeye Gough, while in his imprisonment in order to maintain his own sanity.
