The Crest Shield has medium deflection and a normal parry speed. Its 80% magic damage reduction combined with its 100% physical damage reduction and low 10 Strength requirement makes it a very good beginner shield to use.
Along with Physical and Elemental damage reduction, weapons also have hidden stats that reduce the amount of status build-up while blocking.
