Deep Gems are upgrade materials in Dark Souls III.

In-Game Description

A gem of infused titanite. Found in the dregs of the Cathedral of the Deep.
Used in infusion to create deep weapons.
Deep weapons inflict dark damage, but lose scaling effects.
There is a darkness that lies beyond human ken.

Using a Deep Gem will infuse the target weapon with a deepened form of Dark, and in turn, will make a weapon deal both physical damage and dark damage, at an equal-split margin with one another.

However, while dealing split damage can be beneficial to the player at times, it should be noted that two defenses will have to be factored in when attacking an enemy. This can, more or less, make a player deal either more damage to the enemy, or less damage.

Deep infusions also remove all scaling effects present on the weapon after infusion, much like a Fire Gem does, which means in order to achieve maximum damage on deep weapons, the player will have to fully-reinforce one.
