Faith is a stat in Dark Souls III that increases attack damage with Faith-based weapons and catalysts as well as increased damage output with spells such as Miracles and Pyromancies.

Faith increases damage done by weapons and catalysts with a scaling mechanic. A letter denoting a weapons specific scaling properties is noted beneath the weapon's required faith stat. The letters range in order of effectiveness from E, D, C, B, A, and S.

Weapons and catalysts with an E rating for scaling will receive a poor benefit from investment in faith while weapons with an S rating receive the greatest benefit.

As is with every other stat in the game, it also has indirect bonuses such as increasing the player character's flat damage absorption.

Soft CapsEdit

Faith has three soft caps: 40, 45 and 60.

In conjunction with 40 points in Intelligence, having 40 points in Faith will grant the player the greatest benefit for investment when casting Pyromancies with a Pyromancy Flame.

Similar to the above, 45 points in both Intelligence and Faith is the soft cap for casting hexes, particularly when using specialized catalysts like Caitha's Chime, Sunless Talisman and Izalith Staff.

At 60 Faith, Miracle-focused catalysts (Talismans and Sacred Chimes) will reach peak efficiency.
