The Old Whip is a whip in Dark Souls II.
In-Game Description
- A leather whip that has seen plenty of use.
- It appears no different than an ordinary whip, but is charmed by an ancient blessing that boosts damage on Hollows. The blessing is likely the work of a cleric, but whether the spell is good or evil is unclear.

The Old Whip can be obtained as a random item as part of a trade with Dyna & Tillo.
Choosing the Petrified Something starting gift gives the player a chance to obtain this weapon early in the game.
Characteristics[]
Like all whips, the Old Whip excels in the long range of its attacks, reaching further than all other melee-based weapon types. It also boasts the highest base damage of all Whip-class weapons. However, its attacks are linear in tracking, meaning that all attacks can be evaded by nimble opponents. It also has the lowest durability of all whips, and is the second heaviest.
It is the only weapon in the game to boost damage inflicted upon Hollow opponents.
On top of its remarkably low durability, the Old Whip will degrade at an alarming rate compared to most other weapons. This can lead to the point that one may only be able to use it against a handful of foes before the whip is at risk of breaking. As such, it is recommended to use Repair Powder and the Bracing Knuckle Ring to minimize this issue.
