Devouts of the Deep are enemies in Dark Souls III.
Description[]
Hollowed followers of the Church of the Deep, these enemies serve as the standard opponents throughout the Cathedral. Their rotting visages are concealed by tattered robes and they wield a variety of weapons. Some of them are capable of igniting themselves and detonating in a powerful explosion.

As with all hollowed enemies, Devouts are very vulnerable to fire damage and will flail helplessly if ignited. They often appear entranced in prayer but this is a ruse and they will not hesitate to attack the player if they lower their guard. Most of them wield swords and daggers, although some carry spears and wooden shields.
Some Devouts will throw Undead Hunter Charms to prevent the player from healing, which can be very dangerous if there are other enemies present. They will also occasionally use firebombs.
