Characteristics[]

While the Stone Twinblade has a much higher physical damage output due to not inflicting another damage type prior to infusion, this twinblade has some characteristics that would appeal to mage-based builds. Its pseudo-low requirements (can be two-handed with 22 Dexterity and as little as 10 Strength), as well as respectable magical scaling bonus coupled with an appreciable amount of poise damage, make it quite powerful in the right hands.

Much like the Red Iron Twinblade and the Stone Twinblade, the Dragonrider Twinblade is one of the stronger twinblades obtainable in the game; the attribute scaling is unremarkable at first, but it later performs much better once it is fully-reinforced, especially with high investments in Dexterity and Intelligence. Infusing the Dragonrider Twinblade with a faintstone is highly recommended, as this will allow mages to inflict more magic damage against ill-protected enemies.

The two fatal drawbacks of this weapon are the heavily spread out scaling, and its very high weight, on par with some ultra greatswords.

It upgrades with Petrified Dragon Bones.

Trivia[]

  • Despite inflicting magic damage and possessing a scaling bonus from the user's Intelligence, the Dragonrider Twinblade does not have a minimum Intelligence requirement in order to be used effectively.
  • This twinblade, much like the Stone Twinblade, inflicts considerably more damage with a guard break riposte or a parried riposte.
