Necromancers are enemies in Dark Souls.
Location[]
Necromancers are found in The Catacombs.
Description[]
Unlike most enemies, Necromancers don't respawn upon death. While they are alive, however, any nearby Skeletons will be continuously resurrected upon being killed, unless finished off with a divine weapon. When threatened, they will attack with a flame projectile.
Worth noting is that the Necromancer's resurrection range is not necessarily dependant on proximity; rather, the group of skeletons that each Necromancer administers to appears to be manually assigned. If an affected skeleton pursues the player far into a zone with no Necromancer present, the affected skeleton will still resurrect continuously, whereas any other skeletons from this new zone will not.
Strategy[]
Necromancers are relatively fragile in melee combat, so if they are rushed, they can be killed in a few hits.
Alternatively, some of them can be sniped with a bow (headshots dealing critical damage), rendering his minions easier to deal with. If a Necromancer is in a position where he's hard to snipe, exiting and continuing the game will reset them to their initial position.
