The Pilgrim's Spontoon is a spear in Dark Souls II: Crown of the Old Iron King.

The Pilgrim's Spontoon is located in a hidden alcove next to an elevator in Brume Tower. The Scorching Iron Scepter is required to access it.

The Pilgrim's Spontoon doubles as a staff in addition to being a spear, enabling users to cast sorceries and hexes at the cost of having no heavy attack.
While it isn't the strongest catalyst available, it can be used to great effect against opponents with high physical defense and low elemental resistances. The same applies to shielded opponents; if their shield has low Magic and/or Dark resistance, then a lot of damage can be done through the block.
At 3.5 units of weight, the Spontoon is tied with the basic Spear for being the lightest spear available. This makes it effective as a secondary weapon, allowing the player more adaptability mid-fight without encumbering them too much.
