Sage's Devouts are enemies in Dark Souls III.
Description[]
Acolytes of the Crystal Sage, these hollowed mages guard the ruins leading to the boss. Although weak and lethargic, they can be dangerous opponents with their spells.
They are also members of Farron's Undead Legion.
Location[]
Found in the Road of Sacrifices, guarding a few spots inside the ruined keep that leads to the Crystal Sage, and generally wandering about areas inhabited by several Sage's Prentices.
Strategy[]
Devouts are capable of casting Farron Dart barrages or Soul Spear at any distance that they spot the player at, which makes them very dangerous enemies at range, especially as they are usually accompanied by several hollow warriors. When approached, they are capable of using their staves as melee weapons, giving them a line of defense at close range, though they will also sometimes choose to flee to farther ranges before resuming their barrages.
Their spells can be blocked by using the pillars and walls in the ruins as the player attempts to get close to them. Their melee attacks also have very long recoveries, meaning that if the attack can be blocked or dodged they will be left extremely vulnerable.
