Undead Rats are enemies in Dark Souls.

Location[]

Undead Rats are most often encountered in dark sewer-like areas.

Description[]

Small Undead Rats are shy creatures and often run away from the player. Once cornered or pursued, they will attack viciously. Their bites cause very heavy Poison buildup and once contracted, is some of the most potent Poison encountered, at 9 damage per second.

Large Undead Rats are both stronger and more aggressive than their smaller counterparts; however, they inflict minute Poison buildup, only causing 4 damage per second once contracted.

Both variants attack in rapid succession, potentially stun-locking players regardless of poise.

Killing Undead Rats is a good way to farm Humanity at an early stage in the game.
