The Follower Javelin is a spear in Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel.

In-Game Description

Light spear wielded by the Farron Followers. Balanced to allow for throwing.
The Followers attack in groups, surrounding foes, shielding themselves, and thrusting their spears at their foes. On a final command, they hurl their spears at their fallen foe, to give the retired warrior an honorable send-off.
Skill: Hurl Spear
Emulate the practice of the Followers by throwing an illusory spear that assumes temporary form.

AvailabilityEdit

Found in the Painted World of Ariandel:

From the Snowfield bonfire, run to the right toward the collapsing snowy ridge. After falling down the collapsing ridge, hug the right wall to avoid the wolves. After a little bit of walking you will encounter a path up guarded by a wolf. Up at the very top of the path there is a group of about five Farron Followers who will all attack you at once if you get near, so prepare for a fight. Behind them is a corpse holding the Follower Javelin.

CharacteristicsEdit

The Follower Javelin is almost identical to the Spear in most regards, but it is notably different in its weapon art. The Javelin's weapon art has the player throw an illusory spear that will deal the same amount of damage as the light attack would. This has a surprisingly large range which can be incredibly useful for players that want to have a ranged form of attack but do not want to switch to a bow or crossbow in the middle of combat, or do not want to use spells.

It also has good scaling with Strength (having A scaling when fully upgraded and infused with Heavy) and has very low weight.

Its main drawback is that it is the second shortest spear in the game, only beating the Golden Ritual Spear.
