The Follower Shield is a medium shield in Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel.
In-Game Description
- Standard shield used by the Farron Followers. Crafted with wood and reinforced with metal.
- Imbued with a faint resistance to the Abyss.
- Skill: Weapon Skill
Equipping this shield in the left hand allows one to perform the Skill of the right hand weapon.
Availability[]
From the Snowy Mountain Pass bonfire, head forward until you reach the bell. Once you see the bell, head left until you reach the cliff and turn left again following the ridge; you should then see the corpse containing the Follower Shield.
Characteristics[]
While the defense provided by this shield is wholly unspectacular, it is relatively light weight for a medium shield, and has very high base stability.
Given that the shield is made almost entirely of wood, save for the metal framing, it is highly-intolerant to fire damage, but has acceptable magic and lightning absorption, and high dark absorption.
The shield's skill allows it to be of good use for aggressive players, allowing them to use their Weapon Skill quickly when needed. Furthermore, while defensively inferior to more stoic shields, the stability it has will ensure a number of hits can be withered before one's guard breaks.
