For the Dark Souls III variant, see Golden Wing Crest Shield.

The Golden Wing Shield is a medium shield in Dark Souls II.

In-Game Description

A blue shield with a gold relief of wings. Likely a symbol of guardianship used by the Knights of the Blue.
Contains materials enchanted by magic, allowing spells to be deflected by parrying.

Availability

The Lost Bastille - On a corpse hanging off a ledge above Steady Hand McDuff's shop. To reach the ledge, start from Straid's Cell bonfire and go two floors down to the room with breakable pots/statues. Find the illusory wall that leads to a corridor and another illusory wall that lead outside. Jump over the gap to the corpse and carefully edge along the narrow pathway to reach the platform above McDuff's shop.

Characteristics

Players should disregard using this shield as a means to block any sort of physical attacks as it has extremely poor physical resistance.

Where this shield shines however, is its very good magic resistance, even when unupgraded. Due to this fact, it is recommended to infuse it with Magic to reach its maximum potential. It also has a Spell Parry capability which makes it good for players certain of their timings.

This shield could be compared to the Spirit Tree Shield, as being a complete upgrade to it. The Golden Wing Shield is just better in terms of stats, with a small weight increase.
