Great Magic Weapon is a Sorcery in Dark Souls.

In-Game Description

Sorcery which improves upon Magic Weapon. High magic augmentation: right weapon.

At Vinheim Dragon School, only magic swordsmen on special orders are allowed to learn this spell which grants powerful augmentation to various weapons.

Availability

Great Magic Weapon is located in Anor Londo, on a chandelier in a structure housing the Painted World of Ariamis. To obtain the spell, the chain holding the chandelier must be cut while traversing the rafters on the upper levels of the room; the sorcery can be collected after reaching the lower level.

General Information

Great Magic Weapon may only be used on enchantable weapons, which are those that are upgraded down the Standard, Raw, or Crystal paths, as well as a limited amount of exceptions.

Great Magic Weapon is a stronger version of the Magic Weapon augmentation, but with fewer casts and weaker than Crystal Magic Weapon. The Magic Damage added is equal to the magic adjust of the catalyst used to cast it multiplied by 1.1. Great Magic Weapon does not benefit from the Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring, although it does benefit from the Lingering Dragoncrest Ring.

Due to its somewhat low stat requirement, the spell is a good candidate for use with the Oolacile Ivory Catalyst. giving non magic users a powerful weapon buff with only a few points of stat investment.
