Infested Corpses are enemies in Dark Souls III.

Initially identical to a Reanimated Corpse, these enemies are infected by a maggot parasite that manifests itself as a humanoid creature that emerges from the host's chest. They first appear in the graveyard surrounding the Cathedral and later locked in cells in Irithyll Dungeon.

These enemies are very vulnerable to fire and even striking them with a torch will cause them to recoil briefly. Although they are slow and easy to evade, their attacks will cause the player to be covered in maggots that will slowly increase their bleed meter. Equipping a torch or consuming a Bloodred Moss Clump will remove this effect.

Notes Edit

  • Infested Corpses will make a subtle vomiting sound shortly before transforming. This will allow the player to distinguish them from normal reanimated corpses.
