- For the Dark Souls II variant, see Drangleic Shield.
The Kite Shield is a medium shield in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- An orthodox metal shield.
- Medium shields are the most average of shields, providing a practical balance of damage absorption, stability and weight.
- Skill: Parry
Repel an attack at the right time to follow up with a critical hit. Works while equipped in either hand.
Availability[]
- Starting equipment of the Herald class.
- Sold by Greirat for 4,000 souls.
- Sold by Shrine Handmaid once she has been given Greirat's Ashes.
Characteristics[]
The Kite Shield is very similar to the Knight Shield in many ways.
While it is considerably more expensive than the Knight Shield (more than twice as much) and possesses 1 less point in stability, it does provide increased protection against Fire and Dark damage, with respectable Magic absorption as well, and requires 1 less point in Strength to wield, but maintains the same chink to Lightning damage much like the Knight Shield.
Both shields share the same weight and can parry enemy attacks, with both medium parry speed and moderate stamina consumption.
Like most other shields acquired early on, it is eventually outclassed as more medium shield options become available to the player.
Upgrades[]
Reinforced with regular Titanite.
