Lightning is a type of elemental damage in Dark Souls III.
General information
Lightning is one of four damage types in Dark Souls III, inflicted by certain enemies, items, weapons, and miracles. This element is generally effective against:
- Drakes;
- Wyverns;
- Serpent-kind;
- Most Boss knights;
- Enemies wearing no armor;
This element is generally ineffective against:
- Most knights;
- Enemies using lightning;
Defense
To lower lightning damage, it is necessary to increase Lightning resistance

- Yellow Bug Pellet provides a temporary increase in defense

- Dragonslayer Greatshield provides best lightning damage absorption at a cost of large weight.
- Lothric Knight Shield and Spirit Tree Crest Shield are best amongst medium and light shields.

- Gold Pine Resin or Gold Pine Bundle gives additional lightning damage, when applied.

- Weapons buffed with Lightning Blade miracle;
