The Man-grub's Staff is a staff in Dark Souls III.

In-Game Description

Staff of the man-grubs who guard Rosaria's Bed Chamber. Their holy symbol is formed at the tip.
Wielder's luck strengthens the effects of sorceries.
The man-grubs have clearly been reborn, but as what?
Skill: Steady Chant
Boost the strength of sorceries for a very short period. Works while equipped in either hand.

AvailabilityEdit

Reward for reaching Rank 2 in the Rosaria's Fingers covenant.

CharacteristicsEdit

It is a unique Staff, capable of casting Sorceries, but the damage is entirely boosted by Luck.

As such it enters a certain conflict, players still need to meet the Intelligence requirement of the sorceries they want to cast in order to actually cast them. This means players cannot use high level sorcery with levels of Luck alone. They must also invest in Intelligence as well.

What most players seem to do however is invest at least enough to get the lower level spells they personally want by investing in Intelligence, and then they stop leveling it up altogether, favoring Luck instead.

The ideal level of Intelligence is likely level 23 as it allows players to cast Great Farron Dart, Farron Flashsword, Homing Soulmass and Soul Greatsword.

UpgradesEdit

Reinforced with Titanite.

NotesEdit

  • Sorceries cast with this staff scale with Luck.
  • The Spell Buff is always displayed at 100, but it does in fact increase with higher investments of Luck.
  • Buffs that boost weapon damage are entirely pointless with this staff as they do not benefit from the Luck stat, only with the Intelligence stat.
  • It only outdamages regular staves at 40 Luck when compared to 40 Intelligence. After that, it will always be inferior.
