The Mendicant's Staff is a staff in Dark Souls III.

In-Game Description

A staff with a small bowl attached to the tip, similar to a mendicant's crook.
Absorb additional souls from fallen foes.
The staff's history is unclear. It may be a relic of an ancient serpent's greed, or a ritual artifact used to summon souls.
Skill: Steady Chant
Boost the strength of sorceries for a very short period. Works while equipped in either hand.

Availability[]

Dropped by Man Serpent Summoners in Archdragon Peak

Characteristics[]

The Mendicant's Staff is a poor-performing catalyst, only consistently possessing superior Spell Buff compared to the Witchtree Branch and Sage's Crystal Staff; even in this situation, the Sage's Crystal Staff can easily surpass it via the use of its skill.

The staff's saving grace is that it possesses a soul-absorbing bonus, much like the Shield of Want, in that any enemy that dies while this staff is being wielded will award an additional 20% of its soul bounty. This bonus can be stacked with other tools with soul bounty increasing effects such as the Shield of Want, Covetous Silver Serpent Ring and Symbol of Avarice, and as such, can be a useful tool for farming souls.

Notes[]
