A mercenary dual wielding the Sellsword Twinblades

Paired weapons are a subtype of weapons introduced in Dark Souls III that can be dual wielded.

While two-handing a paired weapon, one weapon is held in each hand. Executing left-hand attacks in this stance results in unique paired attacks that hit with both weapons simultaneously. For example, two-handing the Sellsword Twinblades and then pressing the button/key for a left-hand regular attack results in a downward slash with both blades that hits twice.

Notes

• Though it is not a paired weapon in the same way as the others and can be two-handed normally, Friede's Great Scythe behaves similarly to a paired weapon when its skill is active.
• The player's Strength is not boosted when two-handing a paired weapon.
• Status effect build-up is reduced on each individual hit when using a paired weapon's L1/LB attack. Due to the multi-hit nature of this attack, this means that it will still inflict more build-up if both attacks connect.
  • This reduction only applies to a weapon's innate status build-up. As such, Carthus Rouge and Rotten Pine Resin will still cause their full amount of build-up per hit regardless of what attack is used. This makes weapons like the Crow Talons and Warden Twinblades extremely dangerous when buffed with Carthus Rouge.
