For the Dark Souls variant, see Plank Shield.

The Plank Shield is a Small Shield in Dark Souls III.

In-Game Description

Makeshift shield cobbled together from wooden planks.
Provides minimal protection, and at the cost of moderate humiliation.
Skill: Shield Bash
Without lowering your guard, strike the enemy with the shield to knock them back or stagger them. Works while equipped in either hand.

AvailabilityEdit

  • Starting equipment for the Deprived class.
  • Found in the Undead Settlement. Taking the right-side path from the burning tree with the praying Evangelist and Peasant Hollows, break some crates to the right before entering the stable area, to reveal a hidden path. Traverse the rooftops on the left, killing the Thralls along the way, to find it on a corpse before the Cage Madman.

CharacteristicsEdit

With poor defenses, pitiful stability and the inability to parry, the Plank Shield competes for the title of the worst shield in the game. As it is intended purely as bare minimum equipment for the Deprived class, any possible replacement will most likely serve as a pure upgrade.

UpgradesEdit

Reinforced with standard Titanite.
