- For the Dark Souls II variant, see Porcine Shield.
The Porcine Shield is a medium shield in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- Shield base on a pig's head, depicted with unsettling authenticity.
- Shields such as these were made to shame weak-willed knights, and those who carried these shields were subject to merciless ridicule. No one will defend a craven who abases himself.
- Skill: Shield Bash
Without lowering your guard, give the enemy a good shove with the shameful pig's snout. Works while equipped in either hand.
Availability[]
Obtained by trading an Undead Bone Shard with Pickle Pee (only once per playthrough).
Characteristics[]
As with its predecessor, the Porcine Shield's performance is mediocre at best. It has respectable physical resistance and stability, but much worse elemental resistances than most shields of similar weight.
Compared to other shields that utilize Shield Bash, it is a poor choice as it is beaten in every regard by most shields, with the exception of the Plank Shield. This is on top of the fact that an Undead Bone Shard must be sacrificed to acquire it.
Trivia[]
- Judging by the description and performance, the shield may be considered a "joke" weapon, similar to the Handmaid's Ladle in Dark Souls II.
Upgrades[]
Reinforced with Titanite.
