The Red Sign Soapstone is an online play item in Dark Souls.

In-Game Description

Online play item. Leaves invasion sign. (Hollows cannot use the item)
Be summoned to another world as a dark spirit, and defeat the summoner to acquire humanity.
Certain Darkwraiths resist their descent into dark and persevere along the honorable path. The Red Soapstone is for them.

AvailabilityEdit

Found at the very top of the stairs in the central tower in the Painted World of Ariamis, guarded by some Crow Demons.

General informationEdit

Using the Red Sign Soapstone causes the player to place a red summon sign on the ground. Players that see the sign will be able to summon the user to their world as a red phantom to duel for humanity and souls. As with red phantom invasions, the winner is rewarded with one humanity, as well as a number of souls dependent on the defeated player's soul level.

Players must be unhollowed in order to place the Red Sign Soapstone or to summon a player that has placed the soapstone. Player placing soapstone may be summoned by players that are within range and (- (10 +10% of the placing player's level), or any level higher (for example, a level 100 player can be summoned by any player that is level 80 or higher); in addition, summoner must have not defeated the area boss yet. People who share similar soul levels have a higher priority in match-making.

Those wishing to summon a red sign soapstone user must not have placed their own red sign soapstone. Placing of your own sign prevents you from seeing others signs. You may summon a player (- (10 -10% of the placing player's level), or any level lower (for example, a level 100 player can summon any player level 1 - 122).

Red phantoms summoned through Red Sign Soapstones cannot be indicted if they kill the host.

TriviaEdit

  • When invading with the Red Sign Soapstone, if another player invades the same world with the Red Eye Orb or Cracked Red Eye Orb, both players will be considered different factions and can thus attack each other.
