- Dropped by Knight Lautrec of Carim.
- One per playthrough can be obtained by trading a Xanthous Crown to Snuggly the Crow.
After the player reaches 40 Endurance, wearing the Ring of Favor and Protection is the only way to further increase maximum Stamina.
This ring is useful for players that are absolutely sure that they would never require another ring slot, or if they temporarily require a boost in vitality and stamina. However, removing the ring (and thus breaking it) is ill-advised since only two of them can be obtained per playthrough.
In PvP, many builds rely on the Ring of Favor and Protection to don heavier armor without sacrificing the fast roll, and the extra HP—essentially granting players the equivalent of extra soul levels without actually leveling up. Players are conversely limiting the diversity of rings they can use, however. The Hornet Ring, Havel's Ring and the Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring are all examples of rings that players could otherwise use had they not equipped the Ring of Favor and Protection with the intent of not breaking it.
- The Ring of Favor and Protection stacks and compounds with other equipment burden/max HP items, such as Havel's Ring and Mask of the Father.
- Swapping a Ring of Favor and Protection with another Ring of Favor and Protection does not cause either to break. Moving the ring between ring slots will also not break the ring.
