For the Dark Souls variant, see Scimitar.
For the Dark Souls III variant, see Scimitar (Dark Souls III).

The Scimitar is a curved sword in Dark Souls II.

In-Game Description

A small curved sword with a narrow blade.
The rapid slashing of the lightweight scimitar hardly allows the victim to catch a breath. Has a sharp blade, but is rather ineffective against armor and hard skin.

A light, combo-oriented sword comparable to the Longsword. Weighing at 1.5 unit, it has a fairly high damage-weight ratio, but loses out to almost all weapon of its class at highest upgrade.

The starting primary weapon of the swordsman class, it is likely to be the first curved sword players will obtain.

Curved swords in general rely on combo more than single-hits to deal out damage, and they all share a reasonably direct-able moveset. They also have a unique parry animation that has a different parry frame.

In Power Stance, curved swords will have rapid, multi-hitting attacks that can be used for effective combo, but are very vulnerable to parrying.

The scimitar is the most basic of curved swords, and players will generally replace it with the Falchion, which has higher base damage and innate bleed, at the cost of slightly heavier weight and lower combo-possibility (if the player prefers it, that is).
