Skeletal Beasts are enemies in Dark Souls.

They are encountered in the Tomb of the Giants.

A large, quadrupedal skeleton that pants incessantly. Like other enemies in the Tomb of the Giants, they have a short aggro range. However, they deal very high damage and can hit in rapid succession, making them very dangerous foes.

  • Skeletal Beasts have extremely short aggro range, almost the same as the player's normal surrounding visibility. The player may inflict the first blow by approaching one and attacking with a long weapon, like a halberd, before they become hostile. Using a source of light, like the Skull Lantern, will make them much easier to locate among the darkness.
