The Soldering Iron (焼きごて Yakigote, Branding Iron) is a spear in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- Branding iron used by the jailers prowling Irithyll Dungeon.
- Press its searing tip against foes to inflict fire damage, and temporarily block Estus healing.
- Skill: Charge
Hold iron at waist and charge at foe. Use strong attack while charging to extend the length of the charge.

Characteristics[]
Has low base physical damage and inflicts a flat amount of Fire damage per attack. Its poor scaling in Strength and Dexterity ensure that any attacks performed with this weapon will deal minimal damage no matter its upgrade level or the wielder's stats. It also has short reach for a spear, matching range with some straight swords and being outranged by a number of greatswords.
However, upon hitting a target with the weapon, they will be branded and their ability to heal is reduced. Consuming a charge of an Estus Flask will restore 20% less HP while the debuff is active. The debuff persists for 15 seconds, and can be re-applied indefinitely.
Despite its stats stating that it inflicts regular damage, it actually inflicts strike damage with all attacks.
