Trivia[]

  • Original Japanese description: "イルシールの法王サリヴァーンは 旧王家の主神を廃聖堂に幽閉し ついには神喰らいに供したという"
TL: "It is said that Pontiff Sulyvahn imprisoned the king god of the old royal family in the abandoned cathedral, and finally he offered him to the devourer of gods".
  • A more accurate translation of 主神 would be "God King". This confirms the fact that Gwyndolin, the god who is devoured by Aldrich, had effectively become the King of the Gods of ancient Anor Londo and obtained the place at the helm of the White Way. To do this he would have to overthrow Lloyd, Gwyn's uncle who had assumed command while Gwyndolin was still considered a "daughter" of Gwyn.
  • A more accurate translation of 供した (kyō shita) would be "provided/offered/sacrificed". This confirms the fact that Sulyvahn was forced to give up on Gwyndolin only when confronted by the devourer of gods. In fact, the Pontiff would have had no benefit in giving away his own source of power, at least formally, over Irithyll and the Way of White.
  • A more accurate translation of ついに (tsuini) would be "recently/finally". This confirms the fact that Sulyvhan only "handled over" Gwyndolin to Aldrich only recently when the devourer of gods reached Irithyll.
