CharacteristicsEdit
A sure favorite of Demon's Souls veterans, the Uchigatana is a powerful weapon when upgraded properly. For its good damage output, it has very low required Strength and Dexterity, making the Uchigatana a useful weapon for a non-Strength or Dexterity based build. That being said, the Uchigatana does scale well with Dexterity. The Uchigatana also causes a decent amount of bleed build up (33 per damage) and 300 of bleed damage (equivalent to 30% of the opponent's life), making it especially useful in PvP where it can apply pressure on opponents to break away and heal.
As the description suggests, the Uchigatana has below average durability. However, it should have enough to comfortably last a player through almost any situation. With diligent repairing, the Uchigatana's low durability should almost never pose a problem.
In terms of pure damage, the Uchigatana is eventually outclassed by the Chaos Blade. However, it deals no damage to the wielder, making it more suitable for PvE in some cases. Elemental Uchigatanas are also more suitable for PvP builds that do not have good dexterity.

- In reality, the Uchigatana was adopted by the samurai in medieval Japan as the samurai transitioned from mounted combat steadily to foot-combat. The uchigatana was shorter than previous katanas, making it more wieldy and suitable for hand to hand combat.
